Networking
Networking - making new contacts, seeking out new customers or suppliers is part and parcel of everyday life in business. The Chamber is here to help create the opportunities for you to meet other businesses both in the region and in the neighbouring areas. The emphasis is always on informality - creating and relaxed environment to chat and make those all important contacts.
Joint events are regularly held with Cumbria Chamber as well as Borders and Ayrshire. The Cumbria joint events usually rotate between Gretna and Carlisle to make sure that there are always new faces at every meeting. These events are often done as speed networking giving you just a short time to make that pitch. From time to time we organise events including North East Chamber, Edinburgh and Glasgow for thsoe businesses looking to spread their wings.
Every month we hold our popular Network 530 in a cafe near you! So far we have held these in Dumfries, Langholm and Castle Douglas. All the Network 530 events follwow broadly the same format starting at 5.30pm and finishing by 7.30pm. We usually have an interesting speaker from the wider community and we ask everyone to say a word about themselves and their business - so that you know who is there. The events are free - just buy your own coffee and cakes!
We will be organising a new event arround a Networking Lunch where we ask people to move tables regularly to make sure that you get a chance to speak to everyone.
But the biggest networking event of the business calander is the Chamber Lunch. With over 200 of the key business people as well as improtant decision makers this is the must be at event of the year.
Details of all these events can be found in the events section HERE
