Graeme Galloway will be stepping down after 7 years at the helm of Developing the Young Workforce Dumfries & Galloway in October 2026.
DYW Programme Director Graeme Galloway: "Over the past seven years, I have had the honour and privilege of leading Developing the Young Workforce in Dumfries and Galloway. It has been a genuine pleasure to work alongside my DYW Programme Managers, School Coordinators, colleagues at D&G Chamber of Commerce, and the many individuals within businesses and partner organisations who have supported our mission. I look back with real pride at what we have achieved together in helping better prepare the young people of Dumfries and Galloway for the world of work.
Yesterday (03/06/2026), I informed the DYW D&G Regional Board of my decision to step down from the role of Programme Director. I believe the time is right for new leadership, fresh ideas, and renewed ambition to take the programme forward. My final working day will be Friday 16 October 2026, coinciding with the start of the school October holidays — so you are not getting rid of me just yet! Recruitment for my successor is already underway, and further details can be found at:
With my departure still some months away, I hope to have the opportunity to thank many of you in person for your support, collaboration, and commitment over the years."
